Arsenal latest update as at 14/01/2020

We are into the 3rd week of January transfer window, and as ever, there has been a lot of rumours circulating over the past few days, but the question is which player will arsenal sign?

Atletico plan Lacaczette/Lemar swap

Atletico Madrid are reportedly considering a swap deal involving Alexandre Lacazette and Thomas Lemar.
According to the club, bringing in Edinson Cavani is still the priority for the Spanish club, with the Uruguayan striker out of contract at the end of the season.
However, PSG do not want to lose him in January, and so a deal is looking unlikely before the summer.
The Spanish side are said to be working on a Plan B, and one option is a swap deal involving Lemar and Lacazette.
The Arsenal striker is of interest to the La Liga side, who have apparently already made enquiries in the past.
Meanwhile, the Gunners have been strongly linked with a move for Lemar, who is out of favour at the Wanda Metropolitano.
They will only move onto this plan when efforts to sign Cavani are finished.

Arsenal linked with shock move for John Stones

repotts claims that arsenal are searching for defensive reinforcement and are linked with a shock move for Manchester City defender.
Arsenal are interested in a surprise move for Manchester City defender John Stones.
The former Everton centre-back is reportedly keen for regular first team football in order to secure his place in England’s first team for Euro 2020.
The return to fitness of Aymeric Laporte means that Stones could see his opportunities limited at the Etihad, could well see him consider the offer.

Mavropanos loan confirmed

Arsenal have confirmed that Dinos Mavropanos has joined FC Nuremberg on loan.
The 22-year-old has struggled with injuries this season, with the Gunners deciding that the best option for him to gain first team minutes for the remainder of the season is on a short-term deal.
The defender has joined the 2.Bundesliga side until the end of the season, subject to the completion of regulatory processes.
Arsenal offered the centre-back their best wishes for his time in Germany.

Mustafi agent set for Galatasaray talks

Shkodran Mustafi’s agent is reportedly set to fly to Turkey for talks with Galatasaray.
The Arsenal defender has started just one Premier League game this season, and reports state that his representatives will be holding talks on a deal with the Turkish side.
The Gunners bought the centre-back from Valencia for £35m in 2016, but look set to leave – whether on loan or a permanent deal.

Demiral blow

Arsenal have been linked with the signing of Juventus defender Merih Demiral, but it may not be taking place in January.
Maurizio Sarri revealed that the defender may have suffered a serious knee injury in the clash against Roma on Sunday
And now  state that the centre-back has arrived at Juve’s medical centre on crutches for scans on his knee.

Arsenal and Spurs linked to Kabasele

ARsenal and Spurs have both been linked with a move for Watford defender Christian Kabasele.
Reports in Belgium stated that the two North London clubs are considering a move for the centre-back.
The 28-year-old is apparently being watched by Spurs alongside Stefan De Vrij and Milan Skriniar in case Jan Vertonghen departs.
Meanwhile, Arsenal have been linked due to Shkodran Mustafi’s possible exit.

Real Madrid latest

Real Madrid latest update as at 14/01/2020

Real Madrid loses status as world’s richest club in Deloitte’s 2020 Football Money League

Deloitte’s Football Money League for 2020 has been published – and Barcelona have leapfrogged Real Madrid into top spot.
The Catalan giants generated more money than any other club in Europe for the first time last season.
Barça earned a whopping £741.1 million in revenue for the 2018-19 season – a considerable increase on the £611.6 million generated during the 2017-18 campaign.
Real Madrid revenue, on the other hand, increased by just £2.3 million.
Meanwhile, Manchester United remain the Premier League’s richest club – although the Red Devils are said to be “at risk of losing the position as the Premier League’s highest revenue generating club for the first time” next year.

Real Madrid

2018/19 revenue: £667.5m
2017/18 revenue: £665.2m
Real Madrid only managed to increase their revenue by £2 million, which is quite surprising. Again – the Cristiano Ronaldo effect?

Real Madrid interested in Van de Beek

According to Sky Sports, the agents of Ajax midfielder Donny van de Beek are yet to hold talks with Manchester United or another Premier League club over a transfer.
But the Dutch midfielder is expected is leave the Amsterdam club at the end of the season, with Real Madrid also interested in signing him.

Zidane’s Real Madrid have won all 9 finals they’ve played

With him, the team has won the decisive match in 3 Champions Leagues, 2 Club World Cups, 2 European Super Cups and 2 Spanish Super Cups.Real Madrid won their 11th Spanish super cup after beating Atletico Madrid in Jeddah and continue their run of wins in finals with Zidane on the bench. It is also the second title the Frenchman has won as coach against Atletico, as he also beat the red and whites to lift the 11th European Cup. That penalty shootout in Milan kicked off a splendid run of form.

The next trophy was won a few months later in the European Super Cup against Sevilla. Kashima Antlers and Juventus, in the Club World Cup and the Champions League respectively, were the rivals against whom the decisive matches in the 2016/17 season was also won.
Historical milestone
The 2017/18 season began with a victory over Manchester United in the European Super Cup and Barcelona in the Spanish Sup Cup. Zidane’s side triumphed again against Gremio in the UAE in the Club World Cup and won the third consecutive Champions League against Liverpool in Kiev. Now, with the Spanish Super Cup in Jeddah, Zidane has added his ninth trophy in single-match or two-legged finals. The Frenchman’s record is completed with the 2016/17 LaLiga title.

Arsenal's latest transfer news

Mikel Arteta is hopeful Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang will sign a contract extension at Arsenal but says no talks are currently ongoing with the Gabon international.
The 30-year-old striker has 18 months left on his current deal and newspaper reports from Spain have claimed Real Madrid will make a player-plus-cash offer for Aubameyang worth up to £70m.
However, Aubameyang rubbished those reports in Arsenal's matchday programme prior to their 1-0 win over Leeds United in the FA Cup on Monday night, insisting he loves playing for the Gunners.
"I was very pleased to read those comments," Arteta said. "He knows exactly what I think about him and obviously he is a massive player for us.
But at the moment we are in the middle of the season and we have not discussed anything further on that."
Aaron Ramsey left Arsenal to join Juventus on a free transfer last summer
Arsenal's managing director Vinai Venkatesham said in May the club would look to sell anyone entering the final two years of their contract should they not wish to renew their deals, in a bid to avoid a repeat of what happened with Aaron Ramsey, who left to join Juventus on a free transfer last summer.
However, the club appear to have softened their stance on that - at least in regard to their leading scorer - and Arteta was clear keeping Aubameyang is a major priority for him.
Arteta explained: "My intention is to keep Auba because I know that if we keep Auba with us, we are going to be stronger and closer to winning football matches."
Asked if he is confident Aubameyang will re-sign, Arteta replied: "I don't know. We have not discussed that but I am confident that he is very happy here because that is what he said."

Arsenal will look to add in January

Arsenal have enquired about Bayern Munich's Jerome Boateng
Arteta does not foresee Arsenal spending big money in January after committing close to £150m in transfer fees in the summer.
But an injury to Calum Chambers, who faces nine months out after rupturing the anterior cruciate ligament of his left knee against Chelsea, means Arsenal are looking for defensive reinforcements.
Asked about signings, Arteta said: "I am not expecting big things [in the market]. I am expecting big things from the players I have at the moment and the players that are recovering from injury.
"[But] if we can find something to help us at the moment to get through the season in a more balanced way in certain areas and it is helpful, then we will look at the options.
"We always have to be looking [to strengthen]. We have some bad injuries to players who are going to be out for a long time and we have to see if we can find options there."

Arsenal considering loan offers for trio

Emile Smith Rowe looks set to join Huddersfield on loan
Arteta also confirmed the club are considering offers from a number of clubs to take Emile Smith-Rowe, Tyreece John-Jules and Eddie Nketiah out on loan for the rest of the season.
"We are assessing the situation with three of them," Arteta confirmed.
"We are evaluating all the offers that they have from different clubs, what would suit them more and whether it is the right time for them to make that step.
"In the next few days we will tell you exactly what will happen."

Inter Milan latest update

Inter Milan are in talks with Manchester United over signing Ashley Young, Sky Sports News understands.
The 34-year-old's contract expires at the end of the season, meaning he is free to discuss a move to the Italian side this month.
Inter are ready to offer Young an 18-month deal if he signs this month, but it is unclear if United will allow him to leave in January.
Young would become the third United player to join Antonio Conte's side inside a year following the transfers of Alexis Sanchez and Romelu Lukaku.
Antonio Conte has signed Alexis Sanchez and Romelu Lukaku from United
Young has made 12 appearances in all competitions under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer so far this season.

 and Eriksen deals

Christian Eriksen's Tottenham contract runs out at the end of the season
"Eriksen is an excellent player whose contract expires in June and we have had no contact with Tottenham," he told Sky in Italy.
They reported last week that Inter are one of several clubs to have contacted Eriksen's representatives about his future.
The 27-year-old's Tottenham contract expires in the summer and he is free to talk to foreign clubs this month.
Olivier Giroud could reunite with his former Chelsea boss Antonio Conte
Meanwhile, Chelsea striker Olivier Giroud also remains a target for Conte although the clubs have not had any fresh contact since the January window opened.
The Serie A club were in touch with Chelsea before Christmas over a deal for the France international.

Messi's rumoured WhatsApp text to Neymar

Messi's rumoured WhatsApp text to Neymar

New reports keep emerging about the alleged WhatsApp conversation between Messi and Neymar. Mirosblogg.blogspot.com dive deep into the rumours and give their take on the entire story.

Back in November 2019, reliable French outlet 'France Football' came out with a report stating that Leo Messi contacted Neymar after the infamous Liverpool loss and urged him to return to Camp Nou. We covered the story as well.
"Only together can we win the Champions League. I want you to come back, in two years I will leave and you will be alone. You will take my place," were the Argentine's alleged words.
Two months later, the same story emerges with the same quote as before, catching the eyes of a lot of users on the Internet. We've decided to dig deeper into the issue and find out one thing — has anything new happened or is this just a cheap way to get more clicks.

Erik ten hag should replace enresto valverde.

We've found that at least four English-language outlets have reported the story over the last week. This time around, the outlets have decided to shift the focus on Leo's retirement plans, using the same quote as before.

All four outlets cite 'France Football' as the original source. (ChaugtOffside cite Gulf News, who, in turn, cite 'France Football' in their own report.)
Before we give mirosblogg.blogsport.com take on the whole story, let's remind ourselves of all of the facts and the suggestions related to this particular rumour.
Facts:
  • Leo Messi has revealed in an interview that the MSN trio have an active group chat in WhatsApp.
  • Neymar has confirmed the fact that he wanted to leave Paris-Saint Germain.
Add caption
  • Barcelona have tried to sign the Brazilian.
Suggestions:
  • The Argentine texted Neymar after the loss against the Reds, urging him to come back.
  • Messi plans to retire in two years time.
So, has anything new happened related to the story?
No. The links lead back to the same report that France Football published back in November.
What are the chances that Messi and Neymar kept in touch over the summer?
We say — 9.5/10. The two are good friends and it's hard to imagine that they wouldn't talk to each other amid the abundance of reports linking the Brazilian with a return.
How accurate is the quote provided by France Football?
We say — 3/10. The source don't explain how they got their hands on the message nor do they provide any proofs to make the story more believable.

Should Barcelona treat supercopa as an important trophy

Should  Barcelona field youngsters or take the cup seriously by fielding stars

Ernesto Valverde supposedly plans to test a number of youngsters in the upcoming Spanish Super Cup fixtures. Meanwhile, strong Atletico and Valencia sides will likely feature with their best possible squad selections. So, how should we treat the competition? Will you be frustrated if the team don't win the cup but provide our youth with first-team chances?

Dc United interested in Luka modric

Luka Modric, con el Leganés.

Mirosblog

According to The Athletic and what Miro'sblogg has been able to confirm, MLS franchise D.C. United want Luka Modric to be the new star to replace Wayne Rooney

7/01/2020 16:50

D.C. United are keen to sign Real Madrid midfielder Luka Modric according to The Athletic (and which mirosblog has been able to confirm).
However, as this newspaper understands, the transfer will be difficult at this time, since Modric's salary demands would be too high for the MLS franchise and because the Croatian wants to see out his contract at Real Madrid, which runs until 2021.
D.C. United's interest in Modric has intensified following the departure of their star veteran Wayne Rooney, who returned to England in August 2019 to join Championship club Derby County after 18 months with the MLS outfit.

Modric's short-term future remains at Madrid

Despite having lost his undisputed starter status, mainly due to the rapid emergence of Fede Valverde, the Croatian veteran is still seen as an indispensable player for coach Zinedine Zidane.
Amid the physical issues he has had this season, the 34-year-old has still played 18 matches, providing four goals and five assists - decent figures that demonstrate his quality and importance to Madrid. As such, Modric's future remains at the Bernabéu, at least in the short term.
